Mini Goldendoodle Portraits, Teddy-Bear Edition

A mini Goldendoodle is a Golden Retriever crossed with a Miniature Poodle, which gives you the friendly Golden temperament in a lap-sized body. Many stay under about 35 pounds, with a round teddy-bear face, a soft muzzle and ears that fall in loose curls. The look is closer to a stuffed toy than a retriever, and that is exactly what makes a mini Goldendoodle portrait so charming.

The coat changes a lot between puppyhood and adulthood. Cream and apricot puppies can lighten, red ones can fade, and a straight puppy coat can turn wavy or curly. Because every portrait is created from your photo, it records your dog as they look right now. Order again later if you love how they grow up.

Preview it free in about 30 seconds, then order a framed print from $129 or a canvas from $89, with the name added free. Looking for the standard-size breed? See our Goldendoodle portraits and Cavapoo portraits.

Photo Tips for a Small, Curly, Wiggly Dog

A small Doodle is quick and always on the move. These help:

  • Get on the floor. At this size, a photo taken standing makes your dog look short and stubby. Lie down and shoot at eye level.
  • Pick the right haircut day. The teddy-bear face looks best a week or two after a trim, when the shape is neat but there’s still some fluff.
  • Show the whole face. Check that the eyes and nose aren’t hidden by a curtain of curls. A quick brush upward helps.
  • Watch cream and apricot coats. Bright sun can wash out the curl. Open shade shows the texture and warm color.
  • Use treats and a helper. Minis are curious and love to approach the camera, so have someone hold a treat above the lens.
  • Capture the head tilt. That confused, cute tilt is a classic Doodle move that looks great in art.

Styles That Fit a Mini Doodle

3D Animated is a natural match. It turns your dog into a soft, rounded animated-movie character with glossy eyes, plush-looking fur and a pastel backdrop, which is just right for a small dog that already looks like a toy. See our 3D pet portrait page for more on this style.

Watercolor Blue is soft and dreamy, with a gentle blue background that flatters apricot, red and cream coats. It suits a nursery, a bedroom or a gift for a new Doodle family.

Pop is bold and splashy, ideal for a playful, energetic Doodle and a bright wall. The preview is free, so test all three before you choose.

Questions

Mini Goldendoodle Portrait FAQ

The artwork is created from your photo either way, so the difference is in the shot: minis look best photographed from eye level, with the compact, rounded face filling the frame. They also suit smaller print sizes for a desk, hallway or nursery. For the general breed, see our Goldendoodle page.

You don’t have to. Puppy coats are soft and charming, and they don’t last long. Many owners order a puppy portrait now and another once the adult coat comes in. Use a sharp, well-lit photo; puppies move fast, so shoot a burst and choose the clearest frame.

It will show what your photo shows. Soft, even light brings out curl and true color; harsh sun flattens cream and apricot coats. The 3D Animated style turns the fur into soft, plush texture, while watercolor styles blur the curls into a gentle wash. Try a couple of styles in the free preview.

A 12″ × 12″ gallery-wrap canvas ($89) or a 16″ × 16″ framed print ($129) is a popular choice for a face portrait. If you want to include the full body and paws, the 12″ × 16″ canvas ($99) or the 16″ × 24″ framed print ($139) gives you more room.

Yes. Upload one photo with both pets and they’re included together at no extra charge. Minis often cuddle with a sibling or cat, which makes a sweet picture. Make sure both faces are in focus and not hidden by fluff. A 16″ × 24″ framed print gives a pair space.
