Maltipoo Portraits for a Walking Teddy Bear
A Maltipoo is a Maltese crossed with a Toy or Miniature Poodle, and it shows. You get the silky white of the Maltese and the springy curl of the Poodle, usually in a soft, fluffy coat that looks cuddly even before a bath. Add two dark button eyes, a black nose and floppy ears, and you have one of the most photogenic little dogs around.
Colors run from white and cream to apricot, silver and parti combinations. Because Maltipoos are a mix, no two look quite alike: some are wavy, some tightly curled, some have a rounded teddy-bear trim and others a long, flowing coat. A custom Maltipoo portrait is created from your photo, so your dog’s own cut, color and expression come through, not a generic breed look.
Preview it free, then order framed from $129 or canvas from $89, with the name added free. Fans of small fluffy dogs may also like our Maltese portraits, Cavapoo portraits and every breed on the custom dog portrait page.

Tips for White Curls and Dark Button Eyes
A pale, fluffy coat and a dark face are a tricky mix for a phone camera. These help:
- Find even light. Open shade or a bright window keeps a white or cream coat from blowing out. Harsh sun erases the curls into one white blob.
- Keep the eyes and nose visible. Hair often falls over a Maltipoo’s eyes. Gently part it, or pick a photo where the dark eyes and black nose stand out clearly.
- Get down to their level. Shooting from the floor makes the face look like the sweet teddy bear it is, instead of a small dog seen from above.
- Skip a busy white background. A white dog on a white duvet loses its outline. A darker sofa or rug gives the fluffy edges something to stand against.
- Show the cut. If your dog has a signature trim, like a round head or long ears, make sure it’s not cropped out.
- Wipe tear marks only if you like. Light staining is common in pale dogs. A quick wipe before the photo is nice, but not required.
- Take a burst. Small dogs move fast. Shoot a dozen frames and pick the sharpest.
Art Styles That Flatter a Fluffy Maltipoo
Stained Glass is a standout for a Maltipoo. A jewel-toned leaded-glass window behind a pale, fluffy coat makes white and cream fur glow, and the arched border gives a small dog a real sense of occasion.
For something softer, Watercolor Blue uses airy blue washes that keep the curls light and dreamy. It’s especially flattering on white and silver coats and works well in a nursery or bedroom.
If your Maltipoo has main-character energy, Royal puts them in a crown, crimson velvet and an ermine robe in a classic museum oil portrait. A tiny dog on a throne is the kind of joke a Maltipoo household usually loves, and the pale coat stands out against the rich red.
Maltipoo Portrait FAQ
The texture comes from your photo, so the sharper and better lit the coat is, the more detail you get. A sunlit white coat can lose its curls, while open shade keeps them. Stained Glass and Pop turn the fur into bold shapes, while the watercolor styles keep it soft and airy. Compare a few in the free preview.
You can, but the portrait is only as expressive as the eyes in your photo. Gently move the hair aside, or pick a frame where both dark eyes and the nose are visible. A groomed face with a clear gaze usually makes the strongest portrait. Upload a few options to the free preview and compare them.
Photos in dim rooms make white fur look gray, and direct sun makes it look flat. Move near a window in the shade and take several shots. The art styles also adjust tones, so a slightly dull photo often still gives a fine result. Try a couple of photos in the free preview and keep the best one.
The 16″ × 16″ framed print ($129) and the 12″ × 12″ canvas ($89) suit a face-focused portrait of a small dog. If your photo shows the whole fluffy body sitting up, the 16″ × 24″ framed print ($139) gives it more room. Frames come in solid-wood Pecan, White Oak or Matte Black.
Yes. Upload one photo with both pets in it and we’ll include them together at no extra charge. Maltipoos often sit with a sibling or a cat. Pick a photo where both faces are sharp and neither is hidden behind the other’s fluff. A square or 16″ × 24″ print gives a pair enough space.
